Mark is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Civil Division of the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office. Prior to joining the prosecutor’s office in June 2011, he was an Assistant Knox County Public Defender (2004-2011) and an associate attorney at the law firm of McDevitt, Mayhew and Malek, LPA in Mount Vernon, Ohio (2004-2011). Mark is a 2003 graduate of the Ohio Northern University College of Law in Ada, Ohio. While attending Ohio Northern he was a member of the William Howard Taft Inns of Court (2002-2003) and taught a civil procedure review class for first year law students (2001-2003). Mark was also the student representative at Ohio Northern for LexisNexis (2001-2003).
Mark served as law clerk (2002-2003) for the Hon. Richard K. Warren of the Allen County Common Pleas Court in Lima, OH. He also served judicial internships for the Hon. Salvatore Martoche (2001) and the Hon. Joseph Gerace (2000) of the New York State Supreme Court in Mayville, NY. Mark obtained his undergraduate degrees from Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY and Fredonia State University College in Fredonia, NY.
Mark is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio as well as in the Federal Courts for the Southern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. Mark is a former member of the Knox County Bar Association where he served as president and vice-president. He also formerly served as Chairman of the Knox County Law Library Resources Board and on the Knox County Regional Planning Commission as a representative for the City of Mount Vernon.
Prior to the commencement of his legal career in 2000, Mark was a sales representative (1994-1999) for Power Drives, Inc., in Falconer, NY, a distributor of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic motion control products for industry. He was also formerly employed as the director of sales and marketing (1981-1994) for A. J. Wahl, Inc., in Brocton, NY, a designer and manufacturer of machinery for the ceramic industry. Mark is a former member of the American Ceramic Society and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
