Stephen T. Wolfe is a lifelong resident of central Ohio, having graduated from Thomas Worthington High School in 2000. He attended the Ohio State University, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in English in 2004. While at Ohio State, Stephen participated in a study abroad program at Oxford University in England, studying the Anglo-American legal system.
Upon graduation from Ohio State, Stephen attended Capital University Law School, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2008 and was able to once again study law at Oxford University. While attending law school, he worked for the Columbus City Prosecutor’s Office, starting his career path as a criminal attorney. Upon graduation, Stephen realized that his true passion was in criminal defense, not prosecution, and after passing the bar exam, he began working for the Columbus firm of Cooper & Pennington Co., LPA (formerly known as Christopher M. Cooper Co., LPA). While with Cooper & Pennington, Stephen focused on criminal defense, learning from prominent Columbus attorneys Christopher Cooper and Crysta Pennington.
After nearly five years with Cooper & Pennington, Stephen departed amicably in order to firm Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, with long time friend Marcus M. Van Wey. At Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, Stephen focuses his practice entirely on criminal defense.
Stephen is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Licking County Bar Association, and Ohio Association of Criminal Defense lawyers. He has also attended and completed the National Defender’s Training Project, a week long practicum for criminal defense attorneys.
