Max Sutton graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Concentration in Peace Studies.
Max earned his law degree from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in 1998 and upon graduation worked as a trial lawyer with the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office representing indigent clients facing a wide variety of legal issues.
Max opened his own practice, the Sutton Law Firm, in downtown Newark, in 2006, focusing on family law matters and criminal defense.
He is the current President of the Licking County Bar Association, and currently sits on the Boards of the Licking County Alcohol Prevention Program (LAPP) and Mental Health of America of Licking County. He also volunteers his time at the Salvation Army, the Spencer House, the Courage House, as well as his church, St. Francis de Sales, and is a member of the Newark Kiwanis Club.
Max is an avid runner; he recently completed his third marathon, the Columbus Marathon, in October of 2014.
